Fritzi Woods President and CEO, PrimeSource Foodservice Equipment, Inc
Fritzi Gouldsby is a nationally recognized business and civic leader who has established herself as a consistent trailerblazer. In May 2003, Ms. Woods took the helm as President & CEO of Primesource Foodservice Equipment, Inc. When she purchased a majority stake in 2004, it became one of the largest woman-owned and one of the largest black-owned companies in the United States. As a native of Hooks, Texas and the seventh of ten children, Ms. Woods, a CPA, has the golden combination of financial saavy and a knack for marketing.
Her notable influence on the companys employees, who describe her as genuine, approachable and motivating, not only impacts morale, but the bottom line. At 46, her rise to run the 11th largest food service equipment and supplies distribution company and 37th largest black-owned industrial/service company in the United States is built upon an exceptional track record of business achievement.
As Motorola Manufacturing Controller, Ms. Woods was responsible for the financial reporting and analysis of over $5 billion in sales. As Executive Vice-President and CFO of the Dallas Morning News, she directly oversaw sales and marketing efforts representing over $500 million in revenue.
Active in the community, Ms. Woods is an Immediate Past Chair and current member of the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau Board. She also serves on the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce Board. In the private sector, Ms. Woods is a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and sits on the boards of both private and public companies.
Elizabeth E. Solender President, Solender/Hall, Inc.
Eliza Solender is the President of Solender/Hall, Inc., a commercial real estate and consulting company. The company was founded in 1991 and specializes in assisting corporations and organizations buy, sell, lease, manage and finance commercial real estate.
Most recently, she served on the Board of Directors of Dallas National Bank and is a former board member of ACCESS Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Dallas based biotechnology company. She has served on Advisory Boards for Zweave, Inc. in New York and ClubCorp in Dallas as well as the Southwest Advisory Council for Northwestern Mutual Insurance and Barrie Pace a division of James K. Wilson. Additionally, she is the President and General Partner of Mujeres Empresarias, a commercial real estate investment company based in Dallas.
Solender is a member of the Emerson College (Boston, MA) Board of Overseers and serves as President-Elect of the North Texas Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. She is a member of The Dallas Summit, The Dallas Assembly, Women Corporate Directors, The Real Estate Council, and the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors.
Solender has been involved in many national, community and civic organizations. She served as the national President of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) with over 7,500 members specializing in commercial real estate in the US and Canada. Additionally, she is the founder and Chair Emeritus of the CREW Foundation. She is a past Chairman of the Dallas Museum of Natural History as well as former President of two United Way agencies, (The Family Place and Greater Dallas Mental Health Association); Co-Chair of the Presidents Research Council at UTSW Medical Center; President of CREW Dallas (the 1997 recipient of their Outstanding Achievement Award and in 2001 their Life Member Award) and on a variety of other human service and cultural boards. Additionally, she was named an Outstanding Young Texan by the Texas Jaycees, given the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Dallas Jaycees and the Extra Mile Award by the Dallas Business & Professional Womens Organization.
She has a strong background in human resource management having served in a number of management positions including Manager of Human Resources for the Exploration Division of Sun Company. In addition, she was also a senior lecturer for 15 years in the School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas.
She is the author of numerous articles on commercial real estate and organizational communication, and a frequent speaker on commercial real estate, management, corporate board development, volunteering and community issues.
Solender earned a masters degree from Purdue University and a bachelors degree from Emerson College in Boston. She is a licensed real estate broker in Texas and Oklahoma and holds the Certificate of Director Education from the National Association of Corporate Directors. She is married to Gary L. Scott, a commercial real estate attorney in Dallas.
Lisbeth McNabb CEO, w2wlink.com
Lisbeth McNabb completed two years as CFO for Match.com and in October 2007 launched a professional womens content and community website business as CEO of w2wlink.com. Her professional background includes 20+ years in finance, operations, sales and business development and planning in growth and emerging stage businesses. She has partnered to drive high levels of entrepreneurial and profitable growth, raise the level of excellence in the finance, sales and operations functions and increase market share within emerging businesses of companies which include Match.com, Frito-Lay, American Airlines and Sodexho.
Lis is a director on the board of NASDAQ company Nexstar Broadcasting, a $250M annual revenue company. Nexstar Broadcasting Group currently owns, operates, programs or provides sales and other services to 49 television stations in 29 markets. Lis recently joined the American Airlines Advisory Board on professional women business strategy. Lis is a board member of FEI Dallas, Finance Executives International and Program Chair. Lis joined the board of Sammons Art Center in 2007.
Lis is on the steering committee of Women Corporate Directors Dallas, a mentor at Southern Methodist University to MBAs, Womens Foodservice mentor and member, and a former mentor at Menttium. Lis has formed womens network groups at two companiesFrito Lay and Sodexho. Lis actively speaks to the growth and development of professional women and is a keynote speaker and voice on this important area in local and national organizations and forums.
She received her B.S. at University of Nebraska and M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
Martha Smiley Counsel, Winstead PC
Martha Smiley is currently serving as Counsel at Winstead PC. Her resume includes positions held at Grande Communications, Triad, Inc., Bickerstaff, Heath & Smily, L.L.P., Environmental Protection Agency and the Attorney Generals Office. As a founder and member of the senior management team at Grande Communications, Ms. Smileys responsibilities have included developing community, government, legal and legislative strategy, identifying corporate business and community alignments which help the company fulfill its mission and leading the wholesale and enterprise marketing teams.
Martha has served on a number of boards including her present position on the Advisory Board of Entergy Corporation. She has also been on the Board of Directors for First Interstate Bank of Texas (acquired by Wells Fargo), N.A. and VAC Acquisition Corporation, parent corporation of Vought Aircraft Corp (Acquired by Northrop Corporation).
As well as serving on corporate boards, Ms. Smiley has served on many civic and community boards.
She received her B.A. in Scientology from Baylor University and her J.D. from the University of Texas Law School.
Renée Hornbaker is the Chief Financial Officer of Shared Technologies, a provider of converged voice and data networking solutions for enterprise businesses. Renée serves on the board of Eastman Chemical, a FORTUNE 500 international chemical company with 2007 sales of $7 billion and approximately 11,000 employees. She chairs its Audit Committee and also serves on its Finance and Health, Safety, Environmental and Security Committees.
Prior to Shared Technologies, she was a managing director and founder of RH Partners, a consulting firm focused on increasing shareholder value. Before that Renée served as CFO of Flowserve Corporation, an international manufacturing firm, where she directed its growth from $500 million to $2.5 billion in revenues. Prior to becoming CFO, she held positions of Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Business Development. Previously, Ms. Hornbaker held senior financial executive positions with a number of firms including Phelps Dodge Corporation, a Fortune 500 diversified mining and industrial firm, where she served as finance head for its $1.5 billion portfolio of industrial businesses. Earlier, Renée held senior financial positions with the Circle K Corporation, Education Management Group and Southwest Forest Industries. Ms. Hornbaker is a CPA and former Senior Manager in the Assurance Practice of Deloitte & Touche.
Renée holds an MBA in Accounting and BA in English from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She is a member of Financial Executives International, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association for Corporate Directors, Women Corporate Directors and the International Womens Forum.
